For the nineth episode of #AskErin, we have this question:
What’s the normal practice for you?
#AskErin is a series where bboys and bgirls around the world can, well, ask Erin anything about breaking itself! Simply #AskErin your question in the comments below and we’ll put up a video response for you.

Simply put – I looked at my schedule. It’s pretty consistent.
I break every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
But let’s dive deeper into this question and ask yourself this:
What’s the schedule for you, based on your lifestyle?
So, a lot of you know that I have a full-time job and I’m breaking semi-competitively, training regularly. So how I go about doing that is by good time management, and being disciplined enough to go for my practice.
You have to ask yourself how much time you want to set aside to achieve the goals you want in breaking, to actually get there, and evaluate if this amount of time you’re currently breaking with is sufficient (or not) for you to reach your goals.
Apart from that, there’s another point I would like to bring up is really on – discipline. I go for my practices every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday – almost religiously.
Unless I’m really sick, I’d make my way for training, even if I don’t feel like it.
That’s my point. For my schedule, it is pretty fixed.
If any of my friends or newcomers were to ask, are we going out on Thursday for drinks. My answer would be “no, I’m practicing.”
This is to say that I believe if you want to achieve the things you want in breaking, this is the kind of mindset you should have.
It shouldn’t be a “take it easy, I don’t want to practice today, I don’t feel like it.”
No, alright. This question is a very important way for us to explore what you want out of breaking by looking at your schedule, and evaluating it.
