What is “Breakdance Decoded?”
Hi, my name is Erin Huang, the founder of Breakdance Decoded. If you’ve ever asked yourself:
- How can I learn to breakdance step by step?
- How can I learn to become fit and strong like all the other breakdancers out there?
- How can I vibe… and let loose to the music?
- How can I finally start to practice and develop my skills at breakdancing?
- How can I look cool like the rest?
- How can I develop my confidence in life through breakdancing?
- How can I ensure that I will not stagnate in breakdancing?
This is the place for you.
Many years back, breakdancing (or the proper term – breaking) was a niche dance. The only way you could learn breaking was to know somebody who could do it! Or by some fortunate circumstance, you came across a dusty old VH1 tape containing just a small segment of breakdancing.
Well, not anymore.
Since the rise of the Internet (especially YouTube), breakdance tutorials are everywhere. It has become so much easier to learn breakdance online.
Or has it?
Just like you, I have experience in trying to learn breakdance online. But it made me even more confused!
Because there was just too much content online! How can I start to learn breaking? Which are the moves I should begin with? What if I learn this move with the wrong technique? How do I know if this teacher can be trusted? Why have I not improved? How can I get help? From whom do I get help?
And worst of all… Why do the YouTube explanations suck?!
You see, good breakdancers (or b-boys) don’t always make good teachers. Some of them – as good as they might be – just can’t articulate and teach well.
This is where I step in.
My job here is to share my knowledge and teach actionable strategies. This will help you gain the greatest amount of progress in your b-boying/b-girling journey.
How my blog will help you learn more EFFECTIVELY
I am not going to lie – breaking is difficult.
You will have to try, fall, pick yourself up, and try again. You will have to do things DIFFERENTLY.
And it can be a challenge.
Fret not, I’ve done your homework for you.
Over the past 7 years, I have carefully studied and analyzed countless books, videos, and workshops in order to get the best tips to improve my breaking. Through my efforts, I have managed to distill the KEY information in order to learn breakdancing FAST (though with a little more injuries than expected).
I want to transform you into the best version of yourself. So learn from my mistakes.
It has become my personal obsession to OPTIMIZE every single move I have ever learnt… so that I can guide and teach you the RIGHT way. No more will you have to suffer from bad instructions or poor guidance… Nor do you need to get lost in a sea of noise.
I will give you the best tips I have uncovered through my constant learning and experimentation. I will SHORTCUT your learning process through focusing on the right basics, the right frameworks and the right way to learn.
Why you should learn from me
I am an instructor at Natasha Studios in Singapore, The Dance Collective and Shona McDiarmid Dance School in Perth. I am also the winner of RedBull BC One Perth Cypher, and the 2x winner of 2v2 Perth City Champs. I have also shared my strategies with many other bboys (who aren’t my students).
I will share on my email list detailed, actionable strategies on how you can learn from scratch, and improve your breaking – that’s where you can get access to my premium content as well as the ideas that I don’t share on my blog.
